  • Luigi Chinetti's second victory at Le Mans in 1934 was notable for his outstanding driving and his pit crew's ability to produce chewing gum on demand to stem the flow of fuel from a fractured petrol tank. Driving an Alfa 8c 2300 with Philip Etancelin, it was to be Alfa's final victory at Le Mans. The image depicts Chinetti leading an Aston Martin Ulster and a Lagonda through Tertre Rouge.

  • Targa Florio 1963
  • The Vic Elford and Umberto Maglioli driven Porsche 907 is shown racing through Cerda's main streets in this the 52nd Targa Florio. Despite losing 20 minutes due to a wheel and tyre problem during the opening lap, it was the English driver who gave a display of inspired driving to snatch victory from Alfa Romero. He set both a new lap record and a new record speed over the tortuous Little Madonie mountain circuit.
  • Driving an Alfa Romeo T33-3, Toine Hezemans and Nino Vaccarella won the 55th Targa Florio, completing the 792 kilometres in just over six and a half hours. The scene depicted shows the winning car storming through Cerda leading serious opposition in the form of the Porsche 908 of Larrousse and Elford.
