Drving a Lotus 38, Jim Clark averaged over 150 mph for the first time to win the 400 miles. Into second plave came Parnelli Jones driving the Hurst Special followed by Mario Andretti in the Dean Van Lines Special. The first three cars were all powered by Ford.
